The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make.... I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. There is one picture of [my three children] sitting in the grass on a quilt in the shadow of the swing set on a summer day, ages six, four, and one. And I wish I could remember what we ate, and what we talked about, and how they sounded, and how they looked when they slept that night. I wish I had not been in such a hurry to get on to the next thing: dinner, bath, book, bed. I wish I had treasured the doing a little more and the getting it done a little less. - Anna Quindlen (Loud and Clear [2004], 10–11). 7/06 6/07 8/07 3/08

I loved that Anna Quindlen article too! Now I just need to work on living it.
And I love your last picture. Nothing is sweeter than your two kids falling asleep together.
You got me with that one...how true it is. Such a good reminder of where our hearts need to be. Thanks P.S. Thanks for the comments on my blog, its nice to know I'm not alone in my rants!!

So I totally think I am getting sentimental.
What a beautiful quote, and the pictures of your kids are just adorable.
I love the last one of them laying together under the blankets. Precious!

Wow that quote is totally inspiring and the pics of your kids are adorable.
I NEED to improve on living in the moment and cherishing this time more.
I always think, I'll NEVER forget this. But then I look at pictures and wish I could remember so much more than I do. It is fleeting.
What a lovely quote and so true! It's making me nostalgic. I think I'm going to go kiss my babies good night one more time. Thanks.
