One of my goals for 2010 is to try two new recipes a month in an effort to find "the joy of cooking" Slaving over a hot stove is just not my thing, but after watching Julie and Julia (great movie. The book? Not so much), I've been inspired to adjust my attitude and make an effort to enjoy the process a little more.
For the month of January, I am proud to report that I made FOUR new recipes - taquitos de papas (potato filled taquitos), breaded parmesan tilapia, oatmeal peanut butter balls, and white chocolate chip blondies!
I guess the sweets shouldn't really count since I'm technically supposed to be trying new dinner recipes, but desserts make me happy, what can I say? The kids love to help me make treats so it's also something fun that we can do together, especially since we've been cooped up in the house so much lately...
and I just love seeing Abby put on her little apron and baker's hat.
*Made any progress on your goals for 2010? Have any recipes to share? I would be forever grateful, especially if it's easy.

I'm with Emmy...I get emails from Kraft Food and Family with recipes that even I can make and not mess up. They have a great magazine too that's about $7 a year and totally worth it.
LOVE the baker's hat. I think I want one.
I love the apron and chef's hat! Looks like they had a lot of fun!
I make some mean pancakes, but I don't have a cool chef's hat.
She looks serious in her hat and apron.
I'm still not that brave to cook a lot with my kiddos...but my kitchen is super small and there isn't a lot of room for anything.
They look like they are loving it. And, I love the aprons.

Good for you trying new recipes. I try to make at least one thing new a week. Being vegetarian for nearly a year there's always something new and need for recipes to keep things interesting.
