Just when you think you have the perfect shot...

Sunny day, dressed in orange, side by side, standing still, and @ five feet from me - a perfect and rare shot, not only because cousin photo opps are few since we now live 700 miles away, but also because they were holding hands! Then -

they MOVE,

and RUN!

I'm chasing them with the camera at this point since they are still, unbelievably, holding on to one another...at least for a few more seconds.

It's definitely not the perfect shot I was hoping for, but at least I captured that sweet moment and have PROOF that these boys really do love each other...

because usually one of 'em is swinging a plastic golf club at the other one's head or trying to bulldoze 'em down with a giant exercise ball.

I can totally relate!! Sometimes kids are just too fast. But you still caught some cute shots (I mean proof!).

Lol! Oh I so hate when you just miss the perfect shot. But the ones you got tell the story of kids so much better :)

The things we do for a good picture!! I love the story to go with it!

totally true!! or you have a camera that takes pictures several seconds after you want it to..grr. It IS very sweet and precious when the kids get along. Glad you caught some of it.:)

i have learned that the only "holding still" perfect shot is when my little love is sleeping :)

They are so cute. I know what you mean about trying to get a perfect one! Sometimes it is good to just take whatever we can get, right?

I know the feeling...when I come back with the camera the picture moment is gone. But whatever it was still made me smile.

I think they are still cute pictures and your story is perfect to go along with them. So exciting that your kids got to see their cousins :)

Oh, I know how that is. I have been SO CLOSE to some really great shots. But kids & pets are too darn quick for my camera. Just keep shooting & you're bound to end up w/ a cute shot, if not the one you planned.

Sometimes I don't even bother taking out the camera because the moment is so fleeting.
