I was so excited after my very first "Fro" last week & getting a record-breaking 25 comments (YIPEE!!!) that I've been racking my brain trying to figure out which slightly more embarrassing pics to post this week. Which pictures truly did not make it into the scrapbook? Or better yet...the wedding scrapbook?

These are Pop-Up Video Style, candid cake-cutting pics that my best friend (and maid of honor), Diana, snapped and mailed to me....taken 12 years ago this past June. (No emailing digital pics back then, folks.)

It started out sweet and innocent...

Yes, I smashed a little cake in my new hubby's face...just to be silly

Then it was his turn...I tried to dodge him and it went right up my nose!

You're going down, buddy!

It was a full-out cake fight! How dignified...

That's exactly what our parents were thinking...haha!

My make-up, my lipstick...pretty much gone, but I was still smiling. It really was hilarious, although I did have icing boogers for a week. (Sorry...too much info.)

Ahhhhh...to be young and in love.

Okay I am trying to catch up on all of your awesome posts! When I read this one I remembered that day so well, especially that moment! I also remember running to the bathroom with you to help you clean up. I think you blew your nose like 10 times! Good times! :)

This brings back memories of my own wedding. The only bite of my wedding cake that I got, was the one my wife jammed in my face.

Such a beautiful bride!

It's important to be silly together. You started your marriage right! :)

I love these photos and the captions are awesome!

I made my hubby PROMISE not to smash cake in my face...and then I was terribly tempted to smash it in his!

I think it is so great that you were able to have fun like that on your wedding day!

That was a fabulous sequence of pictures! I hope that all of your fights to this day are cake fights!

My husband and I had a HUGE fight with the wedding cake. We tracked frosting all over the church we had the reception at. So fun.

I'm jealous of your fantastic pictures of the event. My photographer LOST that roll and we never saw it. This is me totally pouting almost 13 years later...:)

GREAT PSF and FRO!!!

I told my husband I would KILL him if he smashed wedding cake on my face. What a sweetie I was. Very cute pictures! I love your hubby's hair - very stylish for the mid-90's!!

I am #19 comment. I'll make some more to help you reach your goal;). You look so young and itty bitty in your wedding photos.
I will always remember the cake fight at your cousin Melissa's wedding. Were you there? Ask her about it sometime. My mom was with me and swore they'd have an abusive relationship:)
Too funny!!

So much better to have memories like this, full of laughter and love, than for it to have gone perfectly. Memories like this are awesome. And even better when caught on film!

Not embarrassing in the least! Too funny!

You guys look so young!

We promised not to do it, but I had to a little. I put a dot of icing on his nose. Bad wife.

I hope you guys are still having as much fun as in the photos.

very funny. We didn't do cake...I am not a cake fan! So no smashing in our pictures. We did a plethora of other goodies for all to eat. Great photo story.

that was great. I love the little stickers that we used to put on photos. Wow, icing boogies for your honeymoon.

hi kelli! i've enjoyed hearing about you & matt...and your elementary school days! :) thanks for the comment on my blog.

to answer your question...yes, kim & i met through our respective blogs. however, last summer, matt mentioned to me that he'd like to go to myrtle beach this summer. i didn't know kim that well then...but, knew she lived in mrytle beach. as our friendship grew (and matt & i settled on myrtle beach for our vacation), kim & i decided that we would meet. as our trip got closer, so did kim & i. while we were there, i got to see her almost every day. it was beyond any expectations i had. matt was nervous that we were going to wake up in a bathtub full of ice with our kidney's missing! ha. obviously, we didn't!! :) but, after the initial meeting, matt was just fine!! :)

oops! sorry, didn't mean to write that much. i'm sure all you wanted was a simple "yes" or "no", huh??? :)

I love the captions you added! That is super funny. I didn't catch your fro post, so I had to check that out too! Oh, I am weeping here. I too have those pictures. You are a brave girl to put that out there! Thanks for making me giggle today!

Y'all are so cute! I love watching the cake fights but did not participate in one myself. I don't look nearly as good without make up. ; )
