Pickin' Pumpkins!!!

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

A couple weekends ago, Pat and I took the kids pumpkin pickin' for the very first time. Strangely enough, I don't recall ever going as a kid. (Am I the only one?) I remember picking out the biggest pumpkins we could at the grocery store. All these years, I never knew I was missing out the hayrides, the search for that perfect pumpkin, pulling with all your might until it pops off the vine, and then seeing how many Daddy can manage to carry out to the car. haha :) The kids were too cute out there in the pumpkin patch. I just had to share the pics!

Noah stayed in one place just long enough for me to snap this attempt at a posed pic with Abby. He was all over the place! Even with all those pumpkins surrounding him, he was more interested in throwing rocks in a puddle he found next to one of the irrigation lines. Silly kid...just gotta love it.

We're going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow -- I can't wait. I think I'm more excited than the kids even.
These pictures are great, by the way.

I can only remember going with Girl Scouts... Isn't that strange? My parents didn't have a lot of money and the pumpkin patch CAN be a cheap place to visit...

I don't remember ever going as a kid either. Very strange. Maybe the desire to pay to ride around on a hay filled tractor is a newer thing?

I never went to the pumpkin patch either, I thought they only existed on the peanuts special. But, all my kids have been on field trips to pumpkin patches. Great pictures, Noah sounds a lot like my boys, always on the go and pitching rocks.

Me, too! Or is that me neither? I didn't grow up going to the pumpkin patch. That's probably why we go at least twice every year.

Great pictures!

I remember going with the school! We had a place called the Berry Farm and went there for the first couple of years for school! But after that, it was off to the grocery store for us! But the pumpkin patch was a lot of fun while it lasted and it seems that it hasnt changed much since then! The kids look soo cute!!

I love the patches that you get to take them right off the vine. Great shots. It looks like you all had a great day!

I never picked pumpkins as a kid. I did grow one once recently that was a lot of fun to see how big it would get. I think it was abt 70 lbs! when we picked it {actually got my dad to carry it in for me as they were visiting.}
What cute pix you got of your little ones finding the perfect one!

I never went as a little girl! My husband and I go now as adults but we don't literally get to pick our pumpkin off the vine! That looks fun! Great pics!

I so wish they had pumpkin parches here. Looks like so much fun. Glad to hear though I am not the only mother of a little boy who can't stay still long enough for a kodak moment.
