(This week's prompt is inspired by the new movie Motherhood coming out this Friday. I can't wait to see it!)
As a mom, I have learned to expect the unexpected. For instance, I never expected...
to find both kids covered in magic marker, courtesy of three-year-old Abby (summer '07),
or to remove a slimy slug from my screaming daughter's hair just minutes after this picture was taken (fall '08),
or that my cereal bowls wouldn't be large enough to accommodate Noah's appetite - Rice Krispies anyone?
or to see Noah attempting to take his big sister for a stroll,
or to find Abby adding her special touch (aka Pet Shop figures) to the chocolate cake I just finished frosting...but it was her birthday,
or to hear giggles coming from the bathroom only to find my son in his birthday suit splashing around in the sink.
I've probably got a hundred more pictures just like these. :)
I never expected motherhood to be SO full of crazy unpredictable moments - never knowing quite what the day will bring or if I'll ever get a full night's sleep again. Still being a mom is the best thing I've ever done, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. So bring it on, kiddos! My camera is ready!

I love the unexpected mom moments. I've been having 25 years of them!
Happy WW!
It is those unexpected moments that make it all worth it.
I never expected how unexpected motherhood would be either. LOVED this entry!
awesome post mama :)
the unexpected is what it's all about!
Ha! Love your blog. Hey, I'm an LDS writer mom as well. Have you checked out mormonmommywriters.com? Anyway, I had a moment like that today. My son pulled his training potty on top of the coffee table and proceeded to potty train himself. It lasted for a couple hours. Got some great pictures.
LOL - too cute! This post reminds me of a "things I never thought I'd say" conversation I had with a girlfriend yesterday...prompted by her telling me she had just told her 2yo, "it's not ok to sit on your baby brother's face"!
I am cracking up over your pictures!! Love them! They are all such typical sites around my house, too.
I LOVE the pictures! Especially the one in the sink! It doesn't get any better than that!
Love, love, love these motherhood moments! The pictures in the leaves is so wonderful. Sorry to hear that it ended with a wayward slug! Thanks so much for stopping by for SITS Saturday Sharefest!
Warmest wishes, Jenn @ rookno17.blogspot.com
The unexpected moments are definitely some of the sweetest. My daughter is sitting her with me and she loved the addition of the pet shop figures...cute!
